Sankashti Chaturthi is celebrated on the 4th day (Chaturthi) after the full moon (Purnima) of each month of the Hindu lunar calendar. On this day Lord Ganesha, the God of wisdom, auspiciousness and prosperity and the remover of obstacles is invoked and worshipped. The word Sankashti means ‘relief from all problems’ and if the day falls on a Tuesday it its known as Angaraki Sankashti Chaturthi and is considered more so sacred and auspicious. Sankashti Chaturthi is also sometimes known as Sakat Chauth. For Lord Ganesha devotees the monthly celebration of Sankashti Chaturthi is a source of constant connection and Divine blessings of Lord Ganesha.
