Lord Sri Venkateswara Swamy is an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. He is known by many other names such as Venkatachalapathi, Tirumal Devar, Venkataramana, Varadaraja, Balaji, Srinivasa and Bithala. His abode is the Tirumala Venkateswara Temple located in the Sri Balaji District, Tirupathi, Andhra Pradesh. The temple is regarded as one of the wealthiest and most visited temple globally by devotees. Legends go that once Goddess Laxmi saddened and angry by insult of Lord Vishnu by Sage Bhrigu left Vaikuntha. Lord Vishnu in Her search reached the Tirumala hills and found Her there as Padmavati. To marry Her Lord Vishnu as Lord Venkateswara borrowed money from Lord Kuber, who stated that Lord Vishnu will have remain on earth in Kaliyug until He pays the debt off. Devotees believe Lord Venkateswara stayed back Here so as to offer relief from all hardships to His devotees in the Kali Yuga. Here Lord Sri Venkateswara is known as the God of the seven hills.          

Lord Sri Venkateswara Swami Puja is conducted to seek blessings of Lord Venkateswara for health, wealth, protection, prosperity and success. Devotees believe that Lord Balaji fulfils all wished and desires of His devotees, removes all miseries, misfortune and obstacles and blesses with spiritual augmentation. Lord Sri Venkateswara Swami is depicted as dark-complexioned Lord with four hands, the upper two hold the Chakra and Conch. Whereas the lower two are in mudras of Varada Hasta pose and the Katyavalambita pose. Several religious texts assert that in the Kali Yuga worshiping Lord Venkateshwara and gaining His blessings is the only way to obtain Mukti, or salvation, and break free from the cycle of birth and death. Lord Venkateswara destroys all negativities and evil and attracts auspiciousness, positivity and spiritual bliss.
