Goddess Durga Pujas

Goddess Kaalratri is seventh amongst the Navdurga Goddesses. She is worshipped on the seventh day of Navratri festival, which is also known as Saptami. Goddess Kaalratri is a fierce aspect of Goddess Durga. Kaal means time or death and ratri means night or end thus Kaalratri means ‘Goddess of Dark Night’ or ‘One who is death of kaal or time’. Goddess Kaalratri is depicted with dark complexion, Her vahana is a donkey, She has a bountiful hair and four hands. Two of her hands hold blood-soaked cleaver and torch, other two are in blessing and protection Mudras. Goddess Kaalratri is worshiped for protection, removal of miseries and ignorance, peace of mind and occult powers. Goddess Kaalratri is also worshiped to pacify malefic effects of Planet Saturn.
