In Srimad Bhagavad Gita, Lord Krishna has explained to Arjun that Gupt Daan or Good Karma or Charity done without any expectation of recognition or praise is the most pious amongst all daan. It is stated in scriptures that Gupt Daan is 10x more meritorious and beneficial that any other form of charity. Gupt Daan is an act of selflessness and noble act, the daan done without expectation of any returns makes it more so pure and devoid of any ego. As per scriptures Gupt Daan should be so that when done by the right-hand, the left-hand shouldn’t know about the same. Gupt Daan promotes humility and unconditional compassion for the giver and doesn’t demean or humble the beneficiary in any way.
